This was the year that Suffolk stood out. The Lakeland Cavaliers roared into contention after going 0-10 in 2010. Lakeland’s junior running back Raekwon Johnson was forced into part time quarterback duty and ended up splitting Offensive Player of the Year honors with Oscar Smith running back J.C. Coleman. Nansemond River had a resurgent year and ended up just a win short of a playoff berth at 5-5. King’s Fork junior defensive back Charles Clark won Defensive Player of the Year honors, giving the Suffolk schools a strong presence in year-end awards for the first time in years.
Here are the All-Southeastern District teams for 2011 as voted on by the coaches of the Southeastern District.

Scott
Fahey was a heralded local lineman that was just a couple of inches short of
being a Division I recruit. Fahey was a top performer at Junior Rank camp
last May and he earned a spot in the Proving Ground National Combine in
Phoenix where he held his own against dozens of top level recruits across
the country.
